 T here are so many different ways to make money online that many of them have yet to be explored yet. While the majority of ways to make money online are for people who are well educated marketing, advertising and computer languages like HTML, which is used to make things like websites. To many people, the option of making money online doesn't even come up because they think their not smart enough which is simply not true. Anybody can make money online given that what you are selling is a necessity to people, its something people need and or want, for instance a cell phone, or cell phone accessories.

The first thing you need to do if you're going to be successful online is find your niche. A niche is a category or, something you're going to thrive off of. What you need to do from there is decide how you're going to sell your product.

For step two, you will need to figure out is how to get your hands on your product. How will I get my hands on a bunch of cell phones that I can resell? Seeing how making them is not a very good option, how about buying them from a cheap source. Craigslist and Kijiji are great for this exact thing. You simply search "cell phones" in your local area and ads for selling cell phones will appear. The reason Craigslist and Kijiji are great for this is because many of the people selling on the two sites want quick cash now. In other words, the sellers are not willing to wait for an eBay auction because they need the money right then and there. Arrange a meeting spot with the seller and offer to pay cash, sellers usually like that.

Step three is simply go home, take a picture of your newly acquired cell phone and put it up for bid on eBay with a starting bid of more then you paid for it. I recently came across a used Nokia camera phone on Craigslist for $60.00, I searched the exact same used Nokia camera phone on eBay and it sold for $110.00, a profit of $50.00 for just the one phone.

Buying and selling using Kijiji and Craigslist is a great way to start off an online business. Remember you don't necessarily need to use cell phones, any electronics in general work great such as video game systems or IPods. If you can make roughly $50.00 in profit per sale you make, this is definitely one of the best ways to start off a business or to get some extra cash.

800,000 pageviews

I recently met my goal of reaching 1 million page views. I have to admit that I am shocked I met this goal in only 18 months, especially when you consider the fact that I had less than 200k page views less than 9 months ago. A few people have asked how I was able to meet my goal so I thought I would share a few useful tips in this article. Whether you want to increase the page views on your blog or website, these suggestions are sure to help you.

Bookmarking Sites:

Once I was able to keep track of my page views, I started using bookmarking sites. For the most part, I use Propeller and StumbleUpon. Both of these bookmarking sites are easy to use and have several categories. I also sometimes use Digg, but most of my content doesn't really fit into their categories so I don't use Digg very often. The bookmarking sites you should use to increase your page views will depend on the type of content you write. The important thing is to only put your content on sites where your content has a nice fit. This will attract more readers and more readers mean more page views.


Another way I've increased my page views is by writing a weekly newsletter. Since most of content is food-related I chose to start a group at Yahoo Groups. The newsletter is called Content for Foodies and gives a brief description of each article along with a link to that article. I also include other pieces of advice that my readers may find useful, such as websites that deal with the articles that were posted in the newsletter. For example, if I wrote an article on Southern cooking, I may include links to sites where readers could buy cast iron cookware. If you choose to do a newsletter to increase your page views, it's best to choose one category. You can always do more than one newsletter to cover the different topics you write about.


Another way I try to make my work more visible so that I can get more page views is to use a blog. With my blog I sometimes post individual links to articles along with descriptions. Other times, I post my Content for Foodies newsletter on my blog. Either way, my blog does help to bring in more page views.

Proper Placement:
Probably one of the most important things you can do to increase your page views is to make sure your articles get the proper placement on Google. By making sure that your keywords range from 3 to 5% throughout your article, you have a better chance of getting your article on the first page of Google when people search for those keywords. A great example of this was a Harry Potter article I wrote. The keywords were high enough that the article showed up on the first page of Google. When the last Harry Potter book was released people went online and entered the keywords I had used and I received around 60,000 page views for that article in only one month.

Helping Your Fellow Writers:

One of the easiest ways to increase your page views is to seek out fellow writers that write similar content. Read their articles and leave comments. Not only will you learn something new about the topics you enjoy, but the writer may return the favor. I'm not saying you should read content you don't enjoy just to increase your page views. This should be fun and should be articles you enjoy.

What are Keywords

Keywords are words or word phrases that people use in search engines like Google, Yahoo, and MSN, to find what they are looking for on the Internet. Popular keywords are the words and phrases people are most searching for. Popular keywords are most valuable to you as a marketer, because they already have gravity you can harness by using them at your own site.

Targeting Your Blog and Content with Keywords

Targeting your free blogs with popular keyword and keyword phrase dense content begins, if possible, by using the primary keyword that most closely matches the main theme of your blog in the sub domain name or URL for your blog. Sub domain Ex: marketing.blogspot.com. URL Ex: blogspot.com/marketing.

Next build a large list of very popular keywords related to the main theme of your blog. As much as possible when you write new entries try to include these popular keywords and keyword phrases. Because people will already be naturally searching for these popular keywords and keyword phrases, you'll have a better chance of them landing at your blog or a page on your blog (once the pages have been indexed at a given search engine).

Finding Popular Keywords Made Easy

Google offers a groovy and free keywords tool found at: https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal. With this tool you can search and easily create large lists of "google popular" keywords. Simply put in one or more keywords or keyword phrases (one per line), uncheck "use synonyms", change the drop-down option to "search volume trends," fill-in the human code, then click the button marked "get more keywords." The results will give you a list of similar keywords and keyword phrases (up to 200), that can be sorted in many ways. You can then select any or all of these keywords and keyword phrases and easily save them to your local hard drive with just a few simple clicks. The Google keyword tool is by far my favorite tool to create great targeted keyword and keyword phrase lists.
Another popular free keyword tool is Digitalpoint's free keyword suggestion tool found at: http://www.digitalpoint.com/tools/suggestion/. With this tool you can quickly search on a single keyword or keyword phrase and get suggested results from both wordtracker and overture that includes daily search values. Simply put in your keyword or keyword phrase, select your nation (US default), click on the "suggest" button. You may get prompted on the following page for a human code, just fill it in and click the "suggest" button again to get your results. To save these results you have to do it manually with copy and paste to a text or document file. 

Traffic Exchange

First of all, I am a little confused about Google Adsense's policy in regards to traffic exchange programs while using their ads on your site. I recommend contacting them for a full explanation on the do's and dont's before using one of these programs on a site that hosts their ads. You do not want to be banned from the program just because you did not understand the terms of agreement. The rest of this post will assume you do not have Adsense on your site.

The number one consideration you should address when deciding to use a link exchange is, how much time can you spend surfing other sites to earn your credits? The more credits you earn sufing yourself determines how much traffic your site earns in return. Most sites have a 2:1 credit exchange ratio; meaning you have to view two sites in order to earn one visit to yours. Now there are exchanges out there that have a 1:1 exchange ratio but they are not the norm so if you find a reliable one use it often.

The second thing I considered was wether or not I was looking for increased sales by using these type of page views. Lets face it, traffic exchanges do not generally give you enough time per page view to really look around someones site and devolp an interest in their merchandise and services. Sometimes you come across a site that draws your attention immediately and you forget that your surfing, so think of this as you pick your Home page theme. View your page as if you were a potential customer surfing multiple sites. is there anything unique that will cause someone to stay once they have landed on your site? Is your content unique? Do you have eye-catching Headers and graphics? Does your product grab your immediate focus?

Third thing, should you use more than one exchange program? I currently use two actual link exchanges but I also use a few PTC sites that let me convert my cash earnings to link clicks or banner views.This allows others to be paid to view your site, will it increase your sales, probably not but it will most definetly increase your page views and familiarity within the PTC community. There are millions of people who use PTC to earn some extra income from home, and if you are being cycled in front of those millions on a daily basis then eventually they will begin to recognize your name and what you offer. PTC individuals are always looking for something that will benefit them, wether it is something free or an awesome deal on something they purchase online to begin with.

A great way to insure that you maximize the effectiveness of a traffic exchange program is to set up a simple poll at the top of your page. Ask your sufers to answer questions that give you insight on how to increase your sales. Offer them something free for answering the poll, create a newsletter that highlights something beneficial to them like how to earn extra money online or tutorials that are relevant to your product. If you have a specific knowledge of a subject that others may find beneficial to them use that to build a list of followers. If they find your topic interesting they are more likely to sign up for your email alerts everytime you make a change to your site. Offer your followers coupons and discounts that they recieve if they sign-up for your newsletters.

These are just a few things that I have went through to decide if traffic exchanges were right for me and what I learned while using them that help me target my potential audience more effectively. You may have other concerns or goals you need addressed but if you sit down and list them out one by one you can make your determination quickly and you will not waste your time trying to accomplish your goals.

Not Enough KeyWord Density

All the social bookmarking in the world will not help you if the search engines can't find your article in the first place. And search engines can't find you unless you speak their language. As we all know, part of that language is effective use of keywords and keyword phrases, namely keyword density ( the number of times your keyword appears in your article compared to the number of words in your article creates keyword density) that is neither too high or too low. It is, after all, the keywords and keyword phrases that are searched, right?

Keyword Density
Yes and no. Without good keyword density, your article simply will not come up in a search. Keyword density is determined by the number of times your keywords or keyword phrases appear in your article. For the purposes of AC, 3% to 6% is considered ideal keyword density. Having good keyword density is a major part of Search Engine Optimization or SEO. To determine your keyword density, AC recommends text analyzer. Live Keyword Analysis is also a great site to use for measure your keyword density. The advantage of this site is you can edit your article and immediately see increases in keyword density by selectively placing keywords and keyword phrases throughout your article.

Once you have mastered keywords, keyword phrases, and keyword density, this is probably your biggest stumbling block, especially for writing articles for submission. Finding a topic that is likely to be searched, but has not already been flooded with sites and articles may seem like a daunting task. It is manageable, but requires you to step outside your role as a writer and enter the role of a consumer.

What would someone type to find my information?
There are several questions you need to ask yourself first. Does anyone want to read about my topic? If so, who are they and what would they type into a search engine to find your information? This is where you get your key words and keyword phrases. Think like the consumer. The words and phrases they would type to find this information are the keywords and keyword phrases you should use in your article.
Are there already a lot of articles out there about my topic? If so, in order to reach SEO, you will need to find something different from what is already available. This is where you need to be specific and target your audience.

SEO Tools
There are several SEO tools available for you to check the popularity of particular keywords and keyword phrases. In fact, you can find a host of tools, many of which are actually Google tools, offered at SEO chat. (www.seochat.com/seo-tools/keyword-suggestions-google) This gives you a place to start and should help you build some possible keywords and keyword phrases.

With the use of these SEO tools, finding effective keywords and keyword phrases becomes a little less daunting and a little more manageable. Go ahead. Play around with your keywords and keyword phrases. Try similar words and see what happens.

Consumer's viewpoint
Beware! Just because keywords or keyword phrases are popular, doesn't mean your article will rate high with a search engine. It's not the way SEO work. It's likely that your article will be returned along with thousands of other articles and sites. Being buried in the midst of titles that all look the same isn't going to help you at all.

Once you've found your keywords and keyword phrases, you need to take a look at them from the viewpoint of the consumer, again. What specifically are they looking for under this topic? Look for ways to narrow down the topic while taking advantage of popular topics. Be specific about what your article has to offer.

Your keywords or keyword phrases , which you have carefully placed in your headline , must be the actual words someone would type in to search for your information. Forget the highly creative and catchy phrases we love to roll off the tongue. Search engines won't find them.

Keywords vs Keyword Phrases
For SEO, whenever possible, develop your keywords into keyword phrases of two to three words. Matches of one word are far too common and will often be ignored by search engines.Besides, people rarely use just one word to search for information. Remember, search engines are man made creatures designed to crawl the web in search of exact matches. Make sure they can find yours by giving them a clear picture of your article via your own keywords and key phrases. It is merely one way of taking advantage of SEO.
The search engine doesn't care that you have just come up with the perfect title, in fact the search engine doesn't even care if you spell your words correctly. AC does, so be careful with that one.

Beware of Social Book marking
Did you know that linking your articles to your own blogs and social book marking sites may actually prevent your article from showing up in a search? That's right. If you are linking your articles to hubs or lens that you have created you may be defeating your purpose. All your hard work may actually be turning away potential readers simply because the search engine has identified your articles and their accompanying links as spam.

A way around it
If you really want to draw traffic from social bookmarking have someone else bookmark your articles for you. If you must do them yourself, be sure to include articles from other people too. These articles could be other sites or articles that share your keywords and keyword phrases. The search engine is less likely to flag your links as spam if they include a variety of articles from others too.

Of course, linking to your blog is a great way to get traffic, if you already have high traffic to your blog. Don't rely on search engines alone to index your blog and draw people to your links.

SEO Tricks
There are a few other SEO tricks that may entice search engines to land on your article. Use several keywords or keyword phrases. That's right. You need more than one. It isn't difficult to accomplish once you discard your misplaced ideas about finding keywords and sticking to them. In fact, most articles lend themselves to several keywords and keyword phrases.

Keywords and Keyword Phrases in Headline
You absolutely must include those keywords and keyword phrases in your headline and in your first paragraph. Search engines search your headline and beginning paragraphs first. Resist the urge to use another word to avoid the redundancy of repeating key words and key word phrases. The search engine will not recognize even the most clever synonym. SEO depends on repetition of keywords and keyword phrases.
Special Font
Take advantage of using bold print for one of your keywords or keyword phrases and italics for another to take advantage of SEO. Sprinkle your keywords and keyword phrases throughout the remaining article and always check your keyword density before submitting your article.

Wrapping it up
Your last paragraph should function as a conclusion to your article. It should also contain your keywords and keyword phrases. If you have done your job well and have adequate keyword density the search engines will note that your keywords and keyword phrases are present throughout your article.

SEO and Links
Providing a link to another site also increases your chances of rating higher with a search engine and increases your SEO . Although there are many links on AC that the search engine can work it's way through, it wouldn't hurt to add a link from your article to another site that contains complementary information that your reader could benefit from. It is especially helpful if the site you link to also has a good keyword density of the same keywords and keyword phrases you have used in your article. AC discourages links from the body of the article, so take advantage of the supporting links section when submitting your article. Don't forget, you want the site you link to to reinforce your keywords and keyword phrases, too. Providing links to your other work, unless it directly ties to the article your reader is engaged in, will simply irritate your reader and may be picked up as spam. Make sure the link you provide is to a reputable source, preferably one that will boost your keyword and keyword phrases. This helps the search engine confirm that your keywords and keyword phrases really are what your article is all about.

Get links to your article
Gaining a link to your article from a reputable site not only provides you with traffic, it builds SEO. So take the time to find a complementary site, once again who employs the same keywords and keyword phrases you do, that will link to your article. If you can't trade links with another site, try linking from a friend's blog that covers similar content.

The more links you have to your article, especially if they are from high ranking sites and contain the same keywords or keyword phrases as your article, the more likely you are to score with the search engine thereby approaching SEO. That is, after all, what we are all looking for.

SEO online World

The whole online world is talking about search engine optimization (SEO). The content on your site needs to be SEO'd; the articles that you write or have written to create links needs to be SEO'd; even your social networking content, videos and blog entries need to be SEO'd. It's definitely true; they do. So, let's explore the concepts encapsulated by the terms "search engine optimization".

What is Search Engine Optimization (SEO)?

SEO is a generic term for the methods used to make your online content shine well with the major (and minor) search engines. You see, the vast majority of people surf online to gain information. Not for shopping, not for porn - for information. For that reason, major search engines like Google, Yahoo and MSN have algorithms which determine which of the hundreds of millions of webpages most closely present the information searched for by any given surfer at any given time.

For example, if you enter a search for "healthy plants for humans to eat" in the MSN search box, it is the job of the fine folks at MSN to give you back relevant search results. You wouldn't be pleased if when you entered "healthy plants for humans to eat", it came back with results about the Chinese mistreating the Tibetans. Displeased, you would use a different search engine. For that reason, MSN has to have a way to scan the entire Internet for relevant information every time any individual enters a given search.

The way that they do it is by sending out what are called "spiders". Search engine electronic spiders (algorithms) "crawl" the web at incredible speeds and present you as a searcher with fresh, accurate and concise information about what you are searching for.

When you employ search engine optimization techniques, you are putting out spider bait!

So, how do I create good spider bait?
It's not that hard. You want to put out fresh, accurate and concise information - remember? So, you have to first discern exactly what you're going to promote and who you are going to promote it to. The people that you are going to promote your product or service to are groups of people who share a common need for the same information. They are called "niches". One niche is the group of people who are searching for information about healthy plants to eat. Another niche may be searching for ways to end the suffering in Tibet at the hands of the Chinese.

As an Internet marketer, it is your job to target specific niches with specific information that you believe will entice them to visit your site. You want to focus your material on specific "keywords" or "keyword phrases". In the above example "healthy plants for humans to eat" is a keyword phrase. It is a phrase, that you as a marketer, are willing to bet that your niche will enter as a search topic on a major search engine. The keywords and keyword phrases that you choose are up to you. You can dictate them to the letter.

What is keyword saturation?

Good question. Keyword saturation rates are simply the amount of times a given keyword phrase appears in a given amount of content. For instance, if you have a 600 word article and you repeat the same keyword (singular) in that article 6 times, you will produce a keyword saturation rate of 1%. The amount of keyword saturation that is best is debatable. Some people say 3%, some say 6%. One thing is sure: you don't want to flood your content with keywords. The spiders recognize this and label it as spamming. They don't like it when you try to overfeed them and they will punish you with the bite of low rankings.

In a nutshell, you have to experiment with niches, relevant keywords, keyword phrases and keyword saturation rates. You have to have information to present to surfers that is concise, accurate and fresh. You have to determine your specific recipe for optimizing your content for search engine rankings. You the search engines to return your content on the first page of their results that they give to surfers. If you are page 2 or less, you are not going to get very many hits at all.

So, to summarize, you need to provide the world with great information about the keywords of your choosing. You need to target niches and give them what they desire (relevant information). When they read the information that you give them, they will be exposed to your marketing techniques (that's several other articles!). At that point, it is possible to convert a visitor into a sale. That is where you make sweet cash! That's the name of the game!


Back links are the key to wealth from your website. When submitting links to directories make sure that you plan to submit farther than your first page. If your website provides great quality content then you have convinced the directories that you know what you are doing.

Every time a back link is created you are building up your sites momentum and fortune. A back link is a trustworthy way that a search engine can tell that your website provides quality content. After submitting your articles into a directory you have confirmed a deep link inside your website as you are letting the search engines know that there is more to your site than the first page.

In order to generate successful traffic you will need to have your content in order and ready for the world to see. Make sure you have the proper keyword density throughout your articles and that proper grammar has been used. If all has been followed through your directory will be another helpful guest in your group of helpers, as they will do much more than show off your work, they will help your deep links get established.

Once your back links are in place from a reliable source then you are on your way to great search engine optimization. However these are not the only ways back links can help users with their domain. Back links will enable other viewers to see that you are a reliable source and that your link is on another website that they view which creates the feeling that you are someone they know they can trust. If you have the wants from the users then you have successfully became popular, and popularity is what search engine optimization is all about.
If you had the option to put all your back links onto one website or to have multiple back links put onto multiple sites you would most likely go with the latter. The more trustworthy domains linking back to yours will make your site to be very trustworthy and instead of only having one trustworthy website linking back to your domain you will have multiple. The reason search engines take priority in this is simply because the more your name is out there, then the more popular you are, and popularity is the only way to be good in search engines. Go out there and create back links and you are surely to succeed.

Link Popularity

When a fellow website owner decides to add a link to your site from one of his pages, what he is actually doing is validating the fact that the content in your site is relevant to the content in his site. It is also an acknowledgment from him that his site visitors should also be visiting your site to gather even more information regarding whatever subject matter it is that both of you have designed a website for.

Because you have to make sure that the search engine spiders will rank you higher if they find sites that are as relevant to your main topics as you are, you should always make sure that your incoming links from other sites include these important elements:

Most search engines such as Google and Yahoo! will not even allow a website to be submitted unless it has at least one or two relevant links to it before the submission process can be completed. You have to be sure to have at least ten really good and content heavy sites that share the same topics and subject matter that every page on your site also contains.

Google likes to see a lot of relevant links to your site coming from larger and more established sites before they will even consider giving you a top twenty placement in their page rankings. A good way to get a sizable amount of links set up for your site is by doing an intensive search on Google by entering the keyword phrase that describes your website perfectly. Once you do that, go to the top thirty sites that you find and examine each site thoroughly before you e-mail the webmaster at each individual site to ask them if they would link your site with theirs.

Most websites encourage new site owners to link to them by having a "Link Your Site" page on one of their main category pages. Just go to each site's navigation bar to look for it, and if that fails, go to the "Contact Us" page and kindly request a link to be set up between you and the site that you feel will benefit your web pages by being associated with yours.
If your website happens to be about the drivers of NASCAR, then you better not link your web pages that deal with that subject with a site that is all about daytime soap opera. For one thing, your site visitors will be none too pleased to be driven to a site that never had any intention of going to, and the search engine will take you down ten pegs as far as your page ranking is concerned because of the irrelevancy of that particular site.

You have to make sure that ALL of your incoming and outgoing links have the highest degree of relevancy to your own web site, or you really will be penalized by Google and Yahoo!, which will result in the ultimate failure of your SEO campaign.

One of the ways that Google gages site quality is by the time frame of when the website was first submitted for approval by Google. For example, if a site was approved by Google in 2001, that site would be looked on as being of higher quality than a site that was approved by Google in 2003. So if you can find ten sites that were formed before the year 2000 and they have a high degree of relevance to your particular site, those are the ones you should pursue to link your site to.

Google is the only search engine that feels that way, however, so you should also examine the other elements that Yahoo! and MSN believe must be contained in your site to distinguish it as being of high quality. The best thing that will distinguish your site as being of good quality is by having relevant and detailed information in all of your text content.

By this, I mean you must have links in your web pages articles to other sites or web pages that will give the web reader a more descriptive analysis of the subject or topic you are discussing in your web content or blog content. You must also have descriptive text images for your photos or pictures on all of your pages as well.

As long as you follow these rules, any website owner will achieve success through great link popularity.

Post everyday

When you start a brand new blog, it’s smart to add a post every day. By putting up a new post every day, you’ll start to win returning readers right away, so that you can get your new blog off to a robust start. Returning readers mean a consistent stream of traffic that grows through word of mouth, so you can count on increasing numbers of visitors without having to worry about marketing. Uploading a post every day will help make your new blog credible and distinctive, two qualities that translate into a devoted readership. Read on to learn how and why putting up a post every day is the best thing you can do for your new blog, why its especially important to post every day during the first month, and how to take your emerging blog to the next stage.

Get Credible
To hold reader interest, a new blog needs to earn credibility fast. The best way to overcome this reader bias against new blogs is to post every day. As a young boy of eight years of age my life included not much more then school, work and sleep. Have you ever heard of Henry Ford, George Washington, Isaac Newton, or Thomas Edison?

Before one laughs at such an odd conclusion they might consider that a farm is a business. The same skills that would be required for corporate success often present themselves daily to farmers. Children learn early how to calculate the yield of an acre and how much a bushel will earn in one's local economy. Of course, such an education wouldn't be complete unless their fathers stopped scanning the local newspapers to find out how much corn is trading in Wall Street for on any particular day.

Certainly the hard skills of math, commodities, production, supply chain and economy aren't the only skills needed to start a successful business. Business gurus must also learn how to set a goal and meet that goal, be persistent enough to wake up every morning to tackle business problems, and need the mental toughness to defeat challenges as they present themselves. In other words, they must have the right personality traits to succeed in business.
Kids on a farm know hard work. Shucking corn, pulling weeds, hauling wood, pushing old Betsy out of the creek, and skinning chicken isn't anything if it isn't hard work. Farm kids wake up every morning to a long list of chores and work each day and complete them without complaint. They learn by the age of eight to handle responsibilities and tackle their goals. Their blisters and responsibilities ensure that they can face any challenge that may present itself in the future.

As the snow sloshed under my rubber boots, and my scarf waved in the wind, at the age of eight I came to the realization that I will someday live farther then "a stones throw away" from all of my other relatives. Since that time I have devoted myself to the scholarly pursuit of business and the rewards it has to offer. Deep nights have been spent in hermit like solitude thinking about the next great business opportunity. While other kids collected baseball cards, I was watering the fields and thinking about a more efficient method of finishing the job.

On his eighth birthday my son received an ear of corn which he examined closely with curiosity. Passing it from hand to hand he kept looking at me and back at the corn in hopes of figuring out why his father would give him such a ludicrous gift. The poor boy finally decided he was going to investigate what was under its wrapping. As he pulled the ears back in hopes of finding some money or other hidden oddity I said, "This ear of corn listens for the next great business opportunity".

Every strong website or blog has an RSS feed. These feeds are used by subscribers to read your content and stay updated when changes happen. The stronger the site is in maintaining and increasing these visitors the more money the site will make. You can either do this for free by hand or you can pay a service that will help you submit to these directories. The more times people see our RSS subscription button the more people will subscribe to it. It is a numbers game.

The second method is to locate this subscription feed in a place that everyone is going to see it. Simply shoving this feed some haphazard place on your page isn't going to work. Market in your site, write about it and make your readers aware.

Rss what..??

RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication" and it is basically a form of web output wherein you distribute your site’s content by having other web sites place your RSS feed on their site. This works well for any site who frequently updates their content.
Having an RSS feed on your site is different from displaying RSS feeds on your site. Some RSS feeds comes into your site and do something, while others originate from your site but is available off of your site.

Whenever you display an RSS feed on your site they are coming from other sites. If you use the right feed items display program then you can collect items from various feeds and display them on your site as new content that is continuously being updated. Of course, you can also extract data from your own site and build an RSS feed for syndication.

There are a variety of programs available that use RSS feeds in their site structure. These are blogging platforms and content management systems. Sometimes directory and page generation programs also create feeds.

Feeds thrive off of content. A feed without content is not going to do a whole lot for your site. Many readers and RSS feed directories track items and feed build times.

Having your own RSS feed will help you get your pages indexed by the Search Engines. They will also help you reach new customers, build traffic and gain back links. As such, RSS feeds are now becoming a very important part of web site marketing. Their usage is on the rise as more web site owners see that they can attract Search Engine spiders, include deep links and be picked up and subscribed to as a form of syndication. Unfortunately RSS feeds take time and effort to build. This is because each site’s structure is different. Meta keywords and descriptions also have to be created for the feed. Word Press is a blogging platform that automatically constructs RSS feeds for you. It has a lot of different templates available. This is a great option for RSS formation.

Regardless of the kind of web site you have, an RSS feed can be a great asset. It is probably too hard and would take too much time to add an RSS feed to an older site. However, each new site that you build should include a live, updating RSS feed. This is a great way to gain a competitive edge.

Freebie Site

I'm not going to go into the details of earning with freebie site referral programs, but I will offer some quick advice for anyone who is starting to think about this as a supplementary income.

I will say that many people make money with freebie site referral programs. The story goes like this:
  1. person A signs up for randomfreebiesite.com.
  2. person A completes a certain number of offers that the freebie site requires in order to receive the freebie that A wants (e.g. cash, a video game, an ipod) This is achieved by signing up for trial or monthly subscriptions to various programs--some are more legitimate than others, so do your research--usually a person will have to sign up for 2 to 5 of these programs, but some of them are themselves free to try or are very inexpensive (1-10.00 bucks)
  3. person A satisfies the "offers requirement" and posts in a respected forum community that he's looking for x number of referrals so that he can complete the "referral" requirement. The more valuable the freebie offer was for A, the more people he'll need to get as referalls
  4. person A has the requisite number of people he needs as active referrals under him. This just means that all referals successfully completed the requisite number of offers that person A originally had to do.
  5. person A receives his "freebie"--say it's 100.00 dollars into his paypal acccount.
  6. person A splits the money he received among the number of referalls in an honest and fair way (hopefully)
  7. Everyone benefits: sponsors for the freebie sites receive consumer feedback/use of their products, and the consumers got paid off for the efforts.
The key to this sort of activity is really the forum and/or the forum users that serve as your educators and initial payees. My favorite is the relatively new freelunch forums located at www.freelunchforums.com They have a very handy trade manager (although its still a bit counterintuitive) and a helpful moderating staff. It's very easy to find honest traders, too and the trader rating option is a great way to appreciate immediately--at some extent-- their level of experience.
Now, apparently the industry has seen a huge increase in the number of scam artists taking advantage of this niche opportunity. I'll deal with this issue in the next post, as I believe it is somewhat independent to a post about the general mechanics of earning money with freebie site referral programs.

Good ways to make your blog article more readable

Whether you are writing articles for article directories or posts for your blog, your goal should be to make them useful to readers. But, most of the articles and blog posts are full of vague generalities and they contain a pile of words and sentences meant for search engine rankings only.

If you make your contents useful to readers and strategically use a few key words to make it search engine friendly, you will not only attract search engine traffic but also develop readers' loyalty who will promote your brand virally.

How do you make your article useful to readers? Use the 7 techniques discussed in this article to make an impact on your readers.

1. Use examples to elaborate your point. Without example the writing becomes an exercise in abstraction and many readers will not have a clue as to what you are trying to convey. You can either start with examples and than generalize message to an abstract concept or you can start with a general statement and elaborate it with examples.

If you are discussing several concepts, start with a simple example and build on the same example to illustrate all of your concepts. Switching to different examples for each of your concept, will leave the readers wondering how all the concepts you have discussed in your article relate to each other.

2. Use analogy, metaphor, and story. Analogies are very instructive and they provide insights to an unknown concept using a known concept. For example, you can explain back links by saying, 'a back link to your website is like a vote for your site. If you have more votes than your competitors, you win. More back links to your site means higher ranking in search engine results.'

Metaphors are also used to compare two different concepts but the words 'like' or 'as' are not used in metaphors. Our every day speech is full of metaphors, e.g. 'raining cats and dogs', 'old flame', etc. Use them to liven up your prose but be cautious. Improper use may sow confusion in the reader's mind.

If you have a personal story, use them to illustrate your point. Stories are very powerful in conveying a message. A Story resonances more in the minds of the readers than an abstract concept.
3. Enhance value by incorporating opinions. Bloggers often link to other articles and write a sentence or two to introduce a topic. While this is a good practice in letting your readers know what others are thinking in the related topics, you can enhance the value of the post by including your opinions and inviting others to post their own thoughts in the comment section.

4. Use Quotes from Authoritative Writings. You may already know about the value of using quotes from your college essay writing class. Quotes from authoritative figures help increase the value of your opinion and thoughts. You can proclaim that you are not the lonely person who has this crazy thought, but lots of respected people do agree with your insights.

5. Use illustrations and charts. You can use this technique in Squidoo lenses, Hubpages and in your own blog posts. This technique may not be possible for general article marketing sites because of the popular article directories don't allow images and videos in the article.

Some concepts are difficult to explain using words only. However, a simple illustration helps readers grasp the concept easily. Readers can also easily remember a chart than a few paragraphs of a blog post.

You don't have to be a graphic artist to create useful illustrations. Use MS PowerPoint or other free chart software to create your charts. Use screen captures when writing a 'how to article' about the use of software.

6. Write Pros and Cons. Most articles discuss only one side of a topic; either the writer is for or against it. Why no use both sides of the coin? Share your opinions about why it is good for your readers and what your readers should be cautious about while using or implementing the concept in your article.

7. Let your article sit for a day or two. Don't rush to submit your articles to all the article directories as soon as you finish writing it. Wait for a day or two and read the articles again to see if you can add or modify some thing to make it more useful to your readers.

Does your article provide any useful information to readers to make their life better? It does not always have to be materialistic gains for your readers. Even if you can share humor or inspiration with your readers using your prose, you have achieved your goal of providing value by your writing.

In the web information is cheap but valuable information is few and far between. If you do your part in making your readers happy, you will be recognized as an expert in your field and money will flow.

Online earning experiences

I'm always interested in deals online where you can earn cash. When I saw on discussions boards a place to earn free phone call minutes and cash just for signing up for free offers, I figured I'd try it out. Another suggested website was where you can submit tips to earn money. The first offer I signed up for was for free calls.

Phonehog.com is a website that claims you can earn free minutes by simply joining for a newsletter, giving a zip code or answering s survey. Sounds pretty easy. You simply register with your name, e-mail and password. Then you are given an e-mail by phone hog explaining your membership details. The next e-mail is a newsletter with deals to entice. For example if you only enter your zip code, they offer you 7 free minutes.

I signed up for the Coca Cola rewards deal. You sign up for their newsletter and phone hog will credit your account with 24 free minutes. With the Coke rewards program you can enter the code from the cap of special marked bottles and possible win free stuff. Phone hog says on it's website to wait one business day for your account to be credited. It's been over seven now and I still have no minutes added to my account. But I have the Coca Cola membership from the website sitting in my inbox.

I also signed up for a free couple for heartburn medication. The website claims you can get a free trial of their product if you answer a few questions regarding your heartburn needs. The website itself was easy enough to negative through. I waited and checked my phone hog account daily to see if they had credited me with 25 free phone minutes.

As each day went by I ended up getting the usually e-mail newsletter telling about offers to earn free minutes but never once an e-mail that I had minutes. But I did receive one thing from phone hog, a lot of spam! More then one time a day I would receive newsletters claiming on more minutes from partners. I decided to unsubscribe from their website. They have three options on their subscribing page. One is to stay with the newsletters, have less e-mail sent or three have all newsletters stopped. I voted for the unsubscribing completely. This is one website that I won't be continuing with.
Another website I checked out was Itpaystolearn.com. Here you sign up for offers and they pay you in cash via paypal. I signed up for two newsletters and was suppose to earn $4.00. I was excited because I had heard from another person they pay promptly the next day. I waited and checked on my account with the e-mail they send you. Every day now it always says the same thing, they need to make sure you have signed up with their advertisers. Daily I receive from the two offers I signed up for, spam. Several e-mails about signing up for more items. I'm still wondering where are my earnings.

What I've learned from both of these websites is to be more careful when signing up. It's a good idea to check reviews and hear if others have had spamming experiences. You can check out both websites for yourself and see if you have a different experience. Luckily under the newsletters is a unsubscribing link.

Daytripper was a more pleasant experience. When you register you give your name, account name, password, address and how you would prefer to be paid if your work is published. They offer payment by check, paypal or a donation to charity. After signing up you can start submitting a tip for possible publication. It can be about anything. Keep in mind that submitting a tip doesn't mean it will be published. In a few days you'll receive an e-mail regarding if your tip will be published. Publishing/payment times vary from weeks to even months so prepare to be patient.

Good SEO

SEO is a crucial part in building up your business/personal website as
traffic is one of the major factor in a website's success. In this
article, I'll talk about 3 very easy steps you can take to increase
your website ranking and preventing your site from being penalized.

1) Changing the title tag

"The page is one of the most important factors in ranking highly in
search engines.

Page elements are usually 60-80 characters. This title appears in most
search engine results pages (these are often called SERPS) as a link
to your page.

The 3 methods above are very crucial to good SEO ranking, and yet very
easy to implement onto your websites. Be sure to create unique title
tags for each of your pages, describing your site with meaningful meta
description tags, and finally prevent any files that don't want to be
indexed with the robots meta tag.

Many people do not know about or take advantage of link backs to increase page views and traffic. The wonderful thing about link backs is that they are free! With a little bit of time each day, you can build up a huge link back network for your articles, eBooks, websites, business sites, blogs, squidoo lenses, MySpace and more.

What exactly is a link back?

A link back is rather simple. It is a link back to your specific page on the Internet. When the search engines do their crawling and such, the greater the number of link backs to your page means the better chance the search engines have of finding you.

How do you link back?

Visit article directories and submit several free articles. In the byline area and the author area do a link back to a specific article or to your index page of articles. You can also link back to any other thing such as eBooks, blogs, businesses and so forth.

Visit guest books. Make a relevant (not spam) comment about the site and include your URL address for the link back.

Visit blogs on a related topic. Comment intelligently on the blog and leave a link back in your signature.

On the other hand, Social Media sites are where people hang out for fun, exchange information, opinions and their experiences and so on... hmm... Ok, but how does it help seo? Well, let me tell you one of my simple experiences. I had a blog on humour. I created a decent joke, posted in my blog, stumbled the link and waited for about a day. Some of the stumblers found my blog to be interesting and few of them stumbled back. On the first day, I had just 16 stumbles and boom, I got more than 10,000 unique visitors... Now I asked myself, would you believe that? Eventually more interesting people stumbled upon my site and I got nearly 70 stumbles. That's it, I made to the top of Stumbleupon which brings me an average of 12,000 unique visitors for 10 days. Well, what else do you want? On the other hand, a "buzz" of my site spreads from the link that I posted on my Facebook profile, through which I get some organic traffic.

Ok now, enough of my experiences, what good can it really bring to you? There are certain things for which you can rely on social media sites. First is Traffic. You all must know that traffic is the life of a website. If your topics are good and the posts are interesting you can easily get thousands and thousands of unique visitors through social bookmarking sites. The next important thing is getting quality Inbound Links. You must know how important these natural one way links are. They improve your rankings pretty much well. The next thing is Ranking. Even if your pages doesn't rank well in the search engine listings, put them on social media sites and try to get to the top in your topic. As they (social media sites) have very powerful domain and high search engine rankings, you can get to first place of Google or Yahoo search results for your keyword. Believe me it works...

So, what do you say overall? Social Media has become a part of SEO now. Let me tell you one more important thing... if you plan to do any social media marketing before doing some onsite seo, you wont get any good result! I swear! First concentrate on your onsite optimization and then move on to social media sites.

Changing Internet

I love the way the Internet keeps changing. With the advent of Web 2.0 and social media marketing, I have found a treasure of sorts. Every day, I find myself rolling up my sleeves, and making a path to get noticed online. I have to admit that it has become a lot easier to create a brand and market it to the extreme. When I first started building websites about ten years ago, it was easier to get a flood of traffic with no discernible way to see who my customers really were. Social media has squashed that flat.

Social media giants like Digg, Mixx, Stumbleupon, and others will get you noticed, and I have found that the more you socialize and get to appreciate others, the more attention you will draw to yourself. The big search engines like Google and Yahoo like to see this sharing of sorts too, as blogging and trackbacks are extremely popular, and a great way to get links. To a web marketer, this means cash. I would highly recommend trying new social media services like Twitter, and if someone follows you, it's a great practice to follow them too. I learned this from one web marketer who I really consider one of the brilliant ones, Scott Jangro. I still haven't figured out what to do with Twitter. I am a little shy about telling people what I am doing at any given moment throughout my day. I can be a little boring.

It's also important to read blogs from other professionals in your niche. I read a lot of good blogs, most are very impressive intelligent web marketers who have great skills, and used it to their advantage. I read Shoemoney's blog (Shoemoney.com), Jeremy Palmer's (QuitYourDayJob.com), and Amit Mehta's Super Affiliate Mindset (SuperAffiliateMindset.com) among others. A couple of great sources of inspiration are two very cool women who aren't afraid to get their brand names out there. One is Paula Neale Mooney (PaulaNealMooney.com), and the other is Jennifer Ledbetter of (PotPieGirl.com). They are both very smart, very clever woman, and they know their way around the Internet. It really is encouraging to read their blogs, and get their honest opinions about marketing, link building, and other helpful tips.

The key is to get started, and keep going. It can take time to build a website, optimize it, build links, and get noticed. It's not easy, and it is work. Take advantage of social media marketing, and get your opinion and your name brand out there. Internet marketing does pay off with hard work, a bit of schmoozing, and commitment.

Affliate Marketing

There are total of four main things a Blue Ocean Affiliate should keep in mind:

1)Eliminate the products and serviceswhich your target market do not want.

This is to conduct research on your existing list of customer. Ask them for feedback. Ask them if you were to offer them such product would they want it. People who are new can do a marketing research around existing product and find the part which is lacking in the existing product you are promoting and develop your own product. It would also be of a lower cost for yourself. This so-called tapping onto your existing customer and product which the merchant spend thousands of dollars developing.

2) Reduce factors which do not provide high value for your customer.

Ask your customer which feature is useless to them or lesser use to them. Send them a survey or online form to comment. You are doing something extra which add value to your customer by know what they want. I am sure most merchant wouldn't be bothered to do this step. You have the advantage as your customer already know you.

3) Raise factors which adds value to your existing customer.

Build rapport with both your potential customer and existing customer. Segmentation of customer is important. You need to know who your buyers are and who are browser. Always give something which you have used and benefit you in one way or another rather than pushing free information to your customer. This will add value not only to yourself but to your customer. The more specific you are the more likely the customer would response to your future product that you are promoting.

Don't just blast out email to your list. Remember we are into Blue Ocean Affiliate marketing. We build rapport and communicate to them. Just like friends. Send them electronic greeting cards. You are encouraging people to use the service to promote your website and in turn promote your affiliate product.

Allowing one to one advice to some of your highly value customer. I am sure you want to keep those highly value customer on your list for a long long time.

4) Create factors which add value to your new customer.
Now this is the part which will really make a difference. Different customer will require different tools or feature or information. If I ask a affiliates, your list of 10,000 subscriber, how many of them are newbie and how many have never bought a single thing from the Internet before, probably they cannot answer.

Your job is to create different factors that add different value for different group of customer. You might just want to create 3 sub-groups and lay down your own criteria for the person to be in that particular group.

A new value does not need to be a product like e-book or special discount coupon. It can be a piece of motivational story. A solution to some of their day to day problem which you identify can be solved rather easily. These are value which is almost overlooked by most affiliates. Remember your business survive because of your customer. Your customer does not need you more than you need them. Sound simple? But how many affiliates actually do the above? You need to decide your value now.

Bad Economy = More online earners?

There's no need to go on a long rant about the state of the current American economy. We all know the situation, and surely, we've all had our moments of anger, despair, rage, depression, ignorance/bliss and every other emotion possible. What does need to be discussed is where the current American economy leaves the average person who is trying to work from home, maybe using an affiliate marketing program or other internet marketing strategy to make money online.

Explaining Discretionary Income

The money a person makes can be broken down into categories. Everything you have left after you pay your taxes is called your disposable income. That's money you have left that you can actually buy things with and pay bills with. From that disposable income there's a smaller slice called discretionary income. That's the category that is getting written out of people's budgets and that's the category which can affect your affiliate marketing programs.

Discretionary income is money people have and put towards unnecessary items. The definition of unnecessary or extra can change from person to person and source to source, but it's basically anything that's not essential to living. So even if you think you "need" that new jacket for the winter, if your old one is still serviceable than you don't actually need the new one and the money you spend on it falls into the discretionary income range.

Obviously when times are tough the first things to go are the things that people don't really need and fall into their discretionary spending. That's a huge problem for those who are making money online with affiliate marketing. More often than not, the products that online marketers are advertising and receiving commissions on are discretionary items. Whether it's shoes, cheap travel deals, sports memorabilia, collectibles of other kinds or anything else, those all fall into discretionary income for households around the country.

One of the most important things about taking online surveys is that most of these companies require that you not talk about the surveys to others. Some of the surveys offered are for new products that are not on the market yet, so telling others about these products could be a grounds for being removed from a survey panel. Be sure to read the confidentiality clause, if there is one.

There are so many different ways to make money online that many of them have yet to be explored yet. Buying and selling using Kijiji and Craigslist is a great way to start off an online business. Remember you don't necessarily need to use cell phones, any electronics in general work great such as video game systems or IPods. If you can make roughly $50.00 in profit per sale you make, this is definitely one of the best ways to start off a business or to get some extra cash.
